What QRnow is
QRnow is a service that lets whoever organizes an event, a handout of goods or a brand campaign sell or give away QR code vouchers and hand them out at their stations by scanning them. You (the organization) set up the event and decide what is sold or given away, to whom and how payment works; QRnow provides the tools.
Who is responsible for what
- The money your buyers pay is yours. If you connect your own payment gateway, the money goes straight to your account; QRnow doesn't receive or hold it. What you charge, what you refund and what you hand out is your responsibility toward your buyers.
- A card number is never stored by or passed through QRnow: the payment gateway handles the payment.
- Your team does the handouts. QRnow keeps a record of each one (who, when, at which station) so you can respond to a claim.
- The service is charged according to the plan you choose for each event. What each plan includes and its price are on the pricing page; anything marked “to be confirmed” is agreed before any charge.
- Who invoices the service: to be confirmed.
- QRnow doesn't issue invoices to your buyers. Online payments are invoiced by the merchant account that processed them, and the order receipt shows its reference. Cash payments at the cashier or bank transfers are invoiced by you, on your own.
Stored-value vouchers
- A stored-value voucher is not money: it's a voucher redeemed for the event's products or services up to its amount.
- It isn't refunded in cash, unless you, as the organization, decide to refund it.
- It doesn't expire before the end of the event. Any balance left on a voucher stays on it for another purchase, unless the event states beforehand, at purchase and at use, that it must be used in full at once.
- You collect the money for stored-value vouchers: QRnow doesn't receive or hold it.
What is guaranteed without internet and what isn't
- A QRnow voucher carries a signature: a phone that's been set up recognizes a fake or altered voucher even without internet.
- The same phone never hands out the same voucher twice, with or without internet.
- What can't be guaranteed without internet: if two phones that can't see each other receive the same voucher, both may hand it out. Once they have signal again, QRnow detects it and shows it to you with the station, the time and the phone. Working without internet requires the staff Android app; the web page needs a connection.
- QRnow doesn't promise there will never be a network, phone or printer failure: that's why it asks you to set up the phones and do a test run before the event.
Your data and your people's data
The data of your participants, buyers and team is yours. QRnow keeps it on your behalf, doesn't use it for anything else and doesn't give it to anyone. It's kept for up to 12 months after you close each event; after that it's deleted or anonymized. Read the privacy notice.
Closing your account
Whenever they want, the organization's owner can “Export everything and delete”: they get a file with the lists and delivery records of their events, and the organization is suspended for 30 days, during which they can change their mind. After that, its personal data and files are deleted; the figures without names and the log, which can't be edited, remain. This can't be done with an event in progress or with money pending.
What you can't do
- Use QRnow to sell or give away anything prohibited by law.
- Ask people for data without telling them what it's for, or ask minors for data in a campaign.
- Try to access another organization's account or forge vouchers.
If any of this isn't followed, QRnow may suspend the account. An event in progress isn't cut off without notifying its owner first.
